With Christmas around the corner, the Holiday stress can be reaching its peak. Even if you’ve done everything you can to prepare, it can still be a lot (In-laws and all).
I may not be able to help you with your never ending list of things to do, but I might be able to help with some stress…
One of my favorite things about this time of year is that everything is winter themed. Meaning countless items are flavored with peppermint, pumpkin, vanilla, eggnog and more! The products range from candles, bath products, food and more.
In order to help myself unwind from the holiday stress, I attempt to find my favorite scent (pumpkin) and I stock my bathroom with everything scented like that. I bought a candle, bath bubbles, a face mask, and lotion. Once or twice a week (depending on how stressed I am) I will run a nice hot bath with my pumpkin bubbles and put on my face mask. With my bottle of wine in hand and music I love, I’ll get into the bathtub and allow myself to relax. This is your moment to take a little time for yourself.
I’ve found when I relate one particular scent to my relaxing routine, every time I smell it, I feel better. When the stress gets the best of me and I don’t have time for a bath, I’ll light my candle and put on my pumpkin lotion. The aroma of it will help me relax and take a step back.
This holiday season, set some time for yourself, so you may enjoy the holidays, instead of stressing over them.
