Do you find yourself struggling through your day? Are you always saying there is not enough time in the day? Surprise, there is enough time in the day. The early bird does get the worm, and so can you. Today, I will give you some tips and tricks on making the most of your morning.
The first step in making the most out of your morning, and arguably the most important, is waking up early. Crank that alarm back two or three hours earlier than you normally would. I know it seems horrifying, but I promise you can do it. Don’t hit snooze, not even once. Every time you turn off your alarm without getting up, a little part of yourself dies inside. Get out of bed and get going! Once you’re awake it’s easy to maintain momentum with the rest of your morning routine.
But great news, your next step is starting your day with caffeine. Brew a cup of coffee or pour a cup of tea. Take this beverage time to run through emails or social media. Even better, don’t look at your phone, instead take a seat outside or in front of the window. Enjoy the early morning quietness.
Once caffeinated, slip off your robe and roll out your mat. Exercise is important in so many ways, from physical health and mental wellbeing. Studies have shown that working out releases endorphins, which make you feel happier all day long!
You should spend a minimum of twenty minutes doing yoga every morning, if you can do up to an hour, even better. Most importantly, stilling your mind, only focusing on your breaths and the movement of your body.
Not a yoga fan? Take these early mornings as an opportunity to hit the gym or go on a run around the neighborhood. It doesn’t matter what type of activity you are doing, as long as your body is moving.
Breakfast time! It is a cliché, but breakfast is the most important part of the day. It is even more important to eat a healthy and balanced breakfast. Cook up some eggs or a bowl of yogurt and granola. Focus on fueling your body.
Now it’s time to jump back into your regular scheduled morning. Jump in the shower, do your skin care routine, and dress brightly for your day.
Find that you still have some extra time left? Perfect! Use this time to get ahead at work or indulge in that book you have been dying to read. Reading is such an easy way to stay informed and improve your vocabulary as well as your ability to communicate effectively with others! You can always start small by reading the news, but it will be even better if you read a book or something like an article instead of just skimming headlines on social media.
Take these moments to better yourself, so you can get the worm.
