Life has been feeling tough. The holidays and our ever-changing world has left me feeling drained. I’m having a harder time getting through my day with a smile. It took me a minute, but I realized I am in charge of my own positivity. That geared me up to start finding new ways to be positive. I added tasks to my daily routine, and it has helped me to have a better day! In today’s post, I want to share my new positive routine with you!
As skeptical as I was about it, I decided to try yoga. Too nervous to find a studio, and too cheap to buy a mat. I moved my living room coffee table, and pulled up a beginners’ yoga tutorial on YouTube. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. Not only did the videos go through exercises that relaxed my body, it had a quick meditation segment that calmed everything inside me. I now do thirty minutes of yoga every night, because it brings a sense of peace to me.
In addition to yoga, I started setting time for myself away from my day. For me, this means turning off the TV and my phone for an hour. In this time of silence, I pull out a book I’ve been wanting to read. It gives me a chance to do something I enjoy that I don’t always have time for.
Baking has also become a positive aspect of my life. The process of baking is soothing to me. I like having a clear-cut plan of ingredients and instructions. I can almost turn my brain off and get through the functions of it. Not to mention that you get a treat out of it! Or I’ve found sharing my baked treats with others brings a smile to my face.
This week, I urge you all to at least try something on the list. Allow yourself to realign and find positivity in life. Have you found something else that works? Let us know in the comments! Or submit your own blog post!
