There are only a few weeks left of May, meaning summer is coming! I can not be more excited for sunny days and warm weather! I’ve felt like the past two summers have been a blur of quarantines, movie marathons, and pale skin. In short, my past summers have been extremely boring. And I want to change that for Summer 2022!
In order to enjoy my summer to the fullest, I want to be THAT GIRL. You know that girl who works 9-5 Monday-Friday, but still manages to go to the gym, eat healthy, and keep an organized home. I also want to be that girl who spends her weekend jam packed with fun! I’ve compiled a list of habits, activities and more to be THAT GIRL.
Monday-Friday:
Create a routine! Nothing is better than having a planned routine for every day of the week.
Find a time that works best for you (5AM is my go to) to wake up every day. I’ve found waking up at 5 gives me plenty of time to work out, cook a good breakfast, get dressed, and make sure I’m ready for the day.
As I mentioned above, I love having enough time to cook a good breakfast. Something about spending the time cooking and enjoying my meal, just sets me up best for my day ahead. While you’re in the kitchen, pack a lunch! It can be expensive and unhealthy to be constantly eating out for every lunch. So, instead pack one for work!
I’m a material girl, I love owning things that make my day better or more fun. So a material girl habit I have is clothing. I love clothes! I’ve found that when I’m dressed my best, I feel my best! Something about a cute outfit and matching accessories brightens my day.
After work, I like to go on a Hot Girl walk. My goal is to get 10,000 steps in a day, so I find an evening stroll is the best way to do it.
Then after dinner, I enjoy my self-care routine, a good book, then promptly in bed by 9!
That’s just a quick rundown of new habits I’ve developed for being THAT GIRL Monday-Friday.
The Weekend:
Now, for the fun part. As I said above, I want to have the most fun I can this summer. My weekends are going to be jam packed! I even bought a planner to keep track of it.
My goal for every weekend is to have at least one night out, one day out, and do something outside.
This means brunches, dinners, bars, beach days, theme parks, picnics and more! I’m trying to fit everything I enjoy into the weekend.
Sometimes it’s hard to find friends to go out with every weekend, so I’ve gotten more accustomed to doing things by myself! Last Friday, I was home alone, bored, and had no one to call. So, I put on a cute outfit and I went to a restaurant I’ve always wanted to try! I sat at the bar with my book and ordered dinner! It was such a fun experience for me, because it was totally out of my comfort zone. Now I want to do it all the time.
I say a jam packed weekend, but I also want to stress about leaving a half day for yourself. My planner has Sunday afternoon and evening blocked out for MY TIME. This time, I’ll recover and reset. I’ll clean the house, do laundry, grocery shop, and meal plan. In addition, this is my time to make a cup of tea and read a book, and reflect on my work week and fun weekend. We can’t expect to always be go, go, go. We have to set time apart for ourselves.
On that note, we all can’t be THAT GIRL 24/7, it’s not humanly possible. So if you find yourself breaking from routine, indulging, or frankly just being a bit of a mess, it’s okay! We all have days like those. The important thing to remember is tomorrow is a new day.
