Today I was inspired.
Typically I like to plan when I want to blog, workout, relax, literally I plan EVERYTHING! So this random post is new to me.
I started my first audible yesterday. I am in LOVE. I am listening to ‘You are a badass’ by Jen Sincero. It’s so funny to me how you can hear something and think, wow that is so simple & basic. It took for me to listen to a book to really open my eyes? Then I feel a little foolish, but hey that’s life. Sometimes exactly what you need is for someone to say uhm hello? YOU ARE A BADASS. and then you are like, yeah, fuck yeah I am. So that my friends is why I was so inspired today.
I really enjoy writing this blog and being open about my fitness journey, but I’ve always been a little embarrassed to post my progress pics. Not today, not anymore. It took for me to listen to this book to realize it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. What I learned today were things I already knew, but needed to be reminded of. What other people think about you has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them. You need to find ways to not let the criticism have any power over you. Honestly, you are you own worst critic, but you need to stop that. NOW. Seriously. The most important thing you can do is love yourself. Have you ever noticed when you love yourself everything seems so perfect? Anything can go wrong, but you brush it off and handle it like a boss? SELF LOVE is by far the best thing you can give yourself.
Another thing I learned today, that opened my eyes was: if you always do your best you don’t have to doubt yourself. Be proud of yourself. It is much easier to block out the haters if you gave 100% vs if you half assed something. So today my friends I am going to share with you my progress pics. You will clearly see how I have struggled with fitness my whole life. As I said from the beginning, 2018 is the year I don’t give up. It is the year I put my excuses aside and go all in. and I can say, I am damn proud of myself! Of course I’ve had days or maybe a week that I didn’t workout or eat the healthiest, but I never gave up. I didn’t let those days define me or decide to throw in the towel. I have made so much progress mentally and physically and now by adding in these audibles to really get my mind right… I feel unstoppable.
No matter where you are at in your journey, don’t forget to stop and give yourself credit. Shit, somedays I give myself credit for getting off the couch lol. Really though, if you don’t stop to appreciate yourself and the work you are putting in, is it worth it?
The only person I try to compete against is the person I was yesterday
