Yet another tragedy taking place…another storm…another natural disaster. Darkness is overwhelming. Hate seems to be so prevalent. Brokenness is everywhere you look.
While all of this may be true, there is still hope. There is always hope.
In times like these, hope seems like a foreign concept. It just doesn’t seem applicable or possible with all that is surrounding us day by day.
When pain is overwhelming, when loss is so common, when death is happening too often, where can we find strength and hope? To where can we run?
The only answer is Jesus. Jesus is the only hope. He’s the only source of strength. He’s the only unfailing love. He is all we need and more.
When I was broken and crying on the floor, Jesus met me right where I was. He picked me up out of my pit and allowed new life, His life, to flow through my veins. He instilled hope in me. He made His strength my own. He reminded me of my worth and my purpose.
When I was lost and had no one to trust, God met me in that chaos and revealed Himself to me. He reminded me of who I was in Him. He reminded that though I may plan my ways, He directs my steps.
God has showed up time and time again when I needed Him the most. And because of that, I have hope.
I know He is a good Father. I know He loves me. I know He is kind, gracious, forgiving, great, holy, righteous, and strong enough. I know He is my Healer. I know He’s my redeemer, friend, and God. I know He is an ever present help in times of need.
Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench this love… Songs of Songs 8:6-7
God is faithful. Every word He has spoken will come to pass. There will be a day with no more tears, pain, death, or suffering. But until that day…let us cling all the more tightly to Him for He is our hope and our strength.
Press into Him in the pain. Allow Him to comfort you. And please remember… despite the pain, brokenness, and bad circumstances, God is still good.
God is good, all the time.
All the time, God is good.
