These performers do not associate with certain individuals, join in illegal things, and typically spend time helping their communities. If a performer finds themselves doing immoral activities, they are quickly canceled by parents, because they are no longer leading a healthy lifestyle.
Role models can positively affect a person’s life. They can show their audience the things that are possible through their own actions. For example, Bethany Hamilton. At the age of thirteen, Hamilton was attacked by a shark which resulted in the loss of her arm. She struggled with the loss of the limb and the impact it had on her surfing career. However, this disadvantage did not stop her from trying. In the end, she still became a professional surfer despite her missing limb. Her story is still influential today to people around the world who are handicapped, and even those who are not. She showed the world that you can be more than your disability. That hard work pays off in the end if you believe in yourself.
Empowered women are great role models for girls, especially one’s reaching the age of young adult. At this young age, girls can feel the insecurity of being independent, a feminist, and reaching for goals others have deemed as unattainable. By seeing other women reach for this empowerment, girls may feel inspired to do the same. There is a comfortability with not being alone, role models project that you are never alone. By being an empowered woman, you inspire others to accept women’s viewpoints or try to seek them, raising the status of women through education, awareness, literacy, training, and more.
Don’t be afraid to be loud and outspoken about being a powerful woman. By being yourself and projecting your strength, you can become a role model for a young girl. You can empower her.
